The University of New Hampshire Franklin Pierce School of Law is the only law school in the small state of New Hampshire. Established as the Franklin Pierce Law Center, the school received its full accreditation from the American Bar Association in 1974. For close to 30 years, the school has had the distinction of being among the top 10 schools offering the best curriculum in intellectual property law. The programs ensure an immersive experience for every student.

The law school has a mixed intake of domestic as well as international students. With 19.1 % of the school population being minority students, the school has the highest racial and ethnic diversity under the University System of New Hampshire. Given its principles of equality, diversity, and inclusion, the school has ensured a fivefold increase in law students from minority groups since 2017.

The law school aims to offer legal education that has global scope and relevance. It focuses on small classes and encourages an intimate and cooperative style of learning.

UNH law programs offered at the school do not limit themselves to the conventional specialties of law. The success of their intellectual property law curriculum pivots on the school’s keen exploration of new disciplinary knowledge and practices. Besides the Franklin Pierce Center for Intellectual Property, the Sports and Entertainment Law Institute and the Warren B. Rudman Center for Justice Leadership & Public Service offer students the opportunity to pursue exciting careers in sports and entertainment law, and in public service.
