A. The students of Whittier Law School have very understandable qualms with the school board’s decision to end the law program. They protested the decision this weekend. If you thought you saw some nerdy signs at the March for Science, the sign “Droppin’ ‘F’ bombs… ‘fiduciary duty'” from this rally is on a whole other level. Above the Law

B. Remember, way back in 2014, when it was reported that GM cars had faulty ignition switches that caused cars to stall mid-drive and led to hundreds of deaths and injuries? For years, GM used its bankruptcy to stall lawsuits for this defect. SCOTUS just ruled that it can no longer do that. Detroit Free Press

C. Another government shutdown is looming, as the deadline to extend the federal budget is this Friday. So maybe err on the side of caution and send out your Mother’s Day gifts a little early? NY Times

D. Following the first-round of voting, France’s presidential election will now be between the establishment-backed Emmanuel Macron and the far-right Marine Le Pen. Sounds tres familiar; good thing the French would have a word for this feeling of uncanny familiarity. BBC
