Southwestern Law occupies the beautiful and historic Bullocks-Wilshire building in the heart of Los Angeles.

If you’ll be in the L.A. area this weekend — or understand the importance of this event and have the resources to book a flight to the L.A. area on a moment’s notice — you’ll be doing yourself a big favor by stopping by Southwestern Law School’s Diversity Day event on Saturday, January 21 from 2-6:30 pm.

Southwestern faculty, staff, and students will be putting on a diverse array (get it?) of presentations on the importance of diversity in law school and the legal field, as well as how you can do your part as student and lawyer in promoting diversity in the law.

    Here’s what’s happening:

Southwestern alum Shawn Holley ’88 will share her experience as part of the legendary legal team that secured a not guilty verdict in the trial of OJ Simpson for the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman.

The Honorable Deborah Brazil ’96, an adjunct at Southwestern and sitting judge on the Los Angeles Superior Court, will give an in-depth talk about diversity in the courtroom.

And for those of you curious about the ins and outs of the law school experience, Robert Mena, Associate Dean for Student Affairs, will give a talk about that experience with real student examples.

Afterward, mix and mingle with tasty hors d’oeuvres and enter the raffle for a melange of fabulous prizes:

–Southwestern will raffle off a first-year books scholarship.
–Blueprint will raffle off two two-hour tutoring packages.

All attendees will receive an application fee waiver from Southwestern and a $400 discount on a Blueprint classroom course. Parking is, of course, free.

So, please RSVP now. Spots are limited, and this event is always a draw and a crowd pleaser.
