UWorld has long been the “gold standard” question bank resource for medical students preparing to take the United States Medical Licensing Exams (USMLEs). We were happy to see that they recently expanded their offering with a PANCE | PANRE Qbank for Physician Assistant students.

There are many options out there for PA students, like Kaplan, PACKRATs, Exammaster, Rosh Review, PrepU… so we thought we’d share what we know about UWorld’s Qbank:

Other Content Takeaways for PA Students

Per UWorld, their questions are designed to be the same level of difficulty or greater than the actual exam. Their goal is to be comprehensive in covering the organ systems, diseases, assessments, knowledge and skills that will be tested on these exams.

As with UWorld’s USMLE offering, they make good use of providing you with challenging answer choices when you narrow it down to the two most appealing options — one of which being the “distractor” answer. Their answer explanations focus on learning, rather than brute force memorization, which will pay off for you in the long run.

We always emphasize with our students that UWorld should be considered more of a learning tool than an assessment tool. As such be certain to spend time reviewing the answers you got wrong, and consider creating a UWorld journal: an easy-to-navigate review resource that focuses on the high yield information you needed to get an answer right.

Lastly, since this is a relatively new offering, we are glad to see the “gold standard” bringing an offering to the table for PA students, and we hope that it will become even more expansive in the number of questions that are offered.
