The pancreas’ exocrine function secretes trypsinogen, chymotrypsinogen, pancreatic lipase, pancreatic amylase, ribonuclease, deoxyribonuclease, and bicarbonate ion into the duodenum. The inactive zymogens do not autodegrade the pancrease, and are activated to trypsin and chymotrypsin in the duodenum. Bile salts are made in the liver.
